In March of 1988 a group of about twenty-one people got together and received a charter for the Salisbury Shag Club.  A few of these people include long time members - Steve & Marty Dixon, Ben & Margaret Sides, Tony McDowell, Marlene Owen, and Jason Park.  With the closing of ‘Peepers’ and the opening of ‘O’Malley’s’ the club flourished with members including Steve & Jody Vail, Gary & Wanda Bradshaw, Kevin Frey, & Opal Parnell, L.A. Christy, Marla Blake, Ruth Sides.  With getting the information by word of mouth hopefully we aren’t leaving any one out.  By 1990 they had 83 members on the roster, many of whom are still living in and around this area. These people are the epitome of “Survivors”.  We now have 168 members on our roster.  I personally would love to see a reunion of as many of these people, since the beginning as possible.  With the help of many of you this could be another event added to our successes .  What greater year to do this than our “Twentieth Anniversary”.  Anyone interested in helping with this idea, with our Pre-SOS party on August 30^th at the Elks Lodge, contact me.
